Now hiring heavy equipment & paving operator

Will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a variety of construction equipment to ensure the accurate laying of asphalt, concrete or earth work surfaces according to project specifications. Physical labor is required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Willingness to learn and work on a team is a must

  • Participates in cross training activities

  • Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment

  • Ability to safely operate a variety of equipment such as dozers, excavators, graders, skid steers, paving machines, asphalt trucks, rollers, tandem axle trucks/trailers, etc. to construct, repair and maintain roads, and properties

  • Must maintain an acute sense of awareness to your surroundings while operating equipment (watch for obstructions while operating the equipment, such as curbs, gutters and ground utilities)

  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, materials used, equipment maintenance logs and any other required paperwork

  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air

  • Must perform general laborer duties as assigned

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Flexibility with last minute schedule, location and time changes is a must

  • Overtime work is required  

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Must hold a valid Class C driver's license 

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers, and crew members

    • Plus, but not required. Class A CDL drivers licenses appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated

      • For Class A CDL drivers: ​Must pass background, driving and DOT drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations

 

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Physical ability to operate equipment or manual tools under extreme temperature and for extended periods of time; as a normal shift is 8-10 hours

  • Prolonged periods sitting 

  • Frequent exposure to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals while paving

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time

Now hiring Class A CDL Driver

The CDL Class A driver will safely and efficiently deliver products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner. A clean driving record and 2+ years of commercial driving experience is a must. No DUI/DWI’s in the last 3 years.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operates a tractor/trailer combination and/or dump truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws

  • Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations

  • Assists with loading of or loads and unloads product and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted

  • Maintains signed invoices, driving/delivery logs and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to supervisor when delivery route is complete

  • Communicates with customers and management on delays, if necessary

  • Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include general housekeeping of equipment, checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to supervisor

  • Must keep vehicle clean inside

  • Performs any other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Must hold a valid Class A CDL appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points

  • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment

  • Must pass background, driving and DOT drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations

  • Flatbed experience and the ability to properly secure loads

  • Mechanical experience is a plus

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting in a tractor cab for long periods of time

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time
